Our Leadership
William Shor
Director
Prior to his role as Managing Director of Caspian VC in 2013, along with subsequent directorships at numerous companies into which Caspian VC had invested, Mr. Shor was Director of Finance & Business Development at Komi Aluminiy (RUSAL Group) and Deputy Director General of RUSAL largest greenfield mining project before it was sold to their main strategic partner.
Earlier, he held a position of managing director in charge of European emerging markets at Solomon Smith Barney. He had also worked at Chase Manhattan Bank, mostly dealing with trade finance for emerging markets.
Mr. Shor has a bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University and an MBA from Columbia University School of Business. Additionally, he has a degree of Master of International Affairs from Columbia University.
Ingus Salmiņš
Director
Mr. Salmins is co-owner and Director of Debitum Bank in Latvia.
Prior to that he served as Director of Energy Efficiency Programme Department at ALTUM, a Latvian government-owned Financial Institution.
Prior to that, he served as Commercial Director at Latvian Postal Service (state-owned).
Mr. Salmins holds an Executive MBA Degree from Stockholm School of Economics.
Marks Lisnanskis
Managing Director
Mr. Lisnanskis is Managing Director of SMW Engineering since 2001.
Prior to that, Mr. Lisnanskis served as Director of Solikamsk Magnesium Works, where he implemented new production facilities – of rare earth carbonates and of downstream magnesium alloy products; and subsequently coordinated the merger with Silvinit division of Uralkali.
Prior to that he served as board member of Silvinit, and worked on securing new sales channels and associated logistics. In 1993 he founded one of the stock brokerage and asset management firms, after Graduating from NJIT with BSEE Degree.
